Week 1 Reflection

Theme:
Thinking critically about the potential strengths and weaknesses of technology-based educational tools and how to make value judgments regarding their value.

Read the following Articles:
Postman - Of Luddites, learning, and life.
Reigeluth, -  Beyond technology integration: The case for technology transformation
  • reflect on your own attitudes toward the potential of technology use in education.
  • pick a few passages from both articles and explain why they reflect or challenge your current attitudes

1 comment:

  1. Postman:
Information has become a form of garbage. It comes indiscriminately, directed at no one in particular, disconnected from usefulness. - Makes me think of all the wonders of facebook.

Second point from Postman: An ipod purchased for a trip to Las Vages. The iPod internet connection does not work in vages because there are too many wireless connection showing up..

    Tech Transformation:
Recognize that using technology to support what they already doing is not a productive couse of action when compared to using technology to transform their teaching to a paradigm that
    is attainment-based rather than time-based.
